The HBANWMI and the The Northwest Michigan Skilled Trades Foundation is actively partnering with industry leaders, educators, and community organizations to tackle the skilled labor shortage and build a workforce for the future. By engaging policymakers and educators, we’re addressing the root causes of this crisis—misconceptions about the trades and a lack of exposure to hands-on learning opportunities. With vocational programs disappearing from schools, too many students miss the chance to discover rewarding careers in construction and skilled trades. Together, we are working to change that by expanding access to construction education, empowering students, and strengthening our local economy. Through collaboration and advocacy, we’re ensuring that the next generation has the skills and opportunities needed to thrive.
